About

With a bachelor's and a master's degree in Theatre and Education from Northwestern University, postgraduate studies in TESL and Instructional Technology from Nevada State College and Sam Houston State University, and a wealth of teaching experience in four states, my interests reflect my diverse and rich educational career. When you add to this my early retirement due to Parkinson's disease, you can begin to see my life's puzzle coming together.  I live in Oregon with my husband, our adult daughter, and her Goldendoodle, Momo. Very soon, our daughter's horse, Ginger, will give birth to a foal, and our daughter will marry our future son-in-law. I love my ever-expanding family, riding my adult tricycle, and writing and creating.

Empowering through education and inspiration

At theworksofdyanmccarthy, my approach is centered on three key pillars: education, inspiration, and advocacy, dedicated to spreading awareness about Parkinson's disease and supporting those affected by it.
